چکیده

We report on magnetoresistance oscillations in superconducting NbNx nanowires synthesized through ammonia gas annealing of NbSe3 precursor nanostructures. Though the transverse dimensions of the nanowires are much larger than the superconducting coherence length, the voltage-current characteristics of these nanowires at low temperatures are reminiscent of onedimensional superconductors where quantum phase slips are associated with the origin of dissipation. By contrast, we show that both the magnetoresistance oscillations and voltagecurrent characteristics observed in this work result from the granular structure of our nanowires.

Tunable superconducting nanoinductors.

We characterize inductors fabricated from ultra-thin, approximately 100 nm wide strips of niobium (Nb) and niobium nitride (NbN). These nanowires have a large kinetic inductance in the superconducting state. The kinetic inductance scales linearly with the nanowire length, with a typical value of 1 nH µm(-1) for NbN and 44 pH µm(-1) for Nb at a temperature of 2.5 K. We measure the temperature an...

Proximity-induced superconductivity in nanowires: minigap state and differential magnetoresistance oscillations.

We study proximity-induced superconductivity in gold nanowires as a function of the length of the nanowire, magnetic field, and excitation current. Short nanowires exhibit a sharp superconducting transition, whereas long nanowires show nonzero resistance. At intermediate lengths, however, we observe two sharp transitions; the normal and superconducting regions are separated by what we call the ...

Alternating current Josephson effect and resonant superconducting transport through vibrating Nb nanowires.

In 1962, Josephson made a celebrated prediction: when a constant voltage is applied across a thin insulator separating two superconductors, it will generate an oscillating current. These oscillations are ubiquitous in superconducting weak links of various geometries, and analogues have been found in other macroscopic quantum systems, such as superfluids and gaseous Bose-Einstein condensates. Th...

Duality picture of Superconductor-insulator transitions on Superconducting nanowire

In this study, we investigated the electrical transport properties of niobium titanium nitride (NbTiN) nanowire with four-terminal geometries to clarify the superconducting phase slip phenomena and superconducting-insulator transitions (SIT) for one-dimensional superconductors. We fabricated various nanowires with different widths and lengths from epitaxial NbTiN films using the electron beam l...
